Dear Utah Bethels,

It is time to start thinking about the Miss Utah Job’s Daughter Pageant and Sprit Ambassador Competition!! This year we are encouraging ALL eligible daughters to try out. It is fun; you learn a lot and meet great people!

We will again be continuing with the all in one-day pageant and competition. It will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at the Salt Lake Masonic Temple beginning at 8:30 A.M. We will begin the day with the preliminary competition, which includes a written test, a personal interview a ritual recitation and a robe judging as well as extemporaneous speaking. After a break for a few hours in the afternoon, we will return to the Salt Lake Masonic Temple for the banquet, final pageant and crowning of the 2008-2009 Miss Utah Job’s Daughter, Miss Utah Congeniality and the announcement of the 2008-2009 Spirit Ambassadors. 

CHANGES FROM PREVIOUS YEARS

Please refer to the individual information sheets, included in this packet, for the particular requirements of each competition. Please read the information letters CAREFULLY so that the competitors know what is expected of them. Please pay careful attention to the Ritual Recitation portion of the Miss Utah Competition. Also, please note that we are asking these applications be mailed to the Grand Secretary this year.

Any Job’s Daughter, in good standing in her Bethel, who is not yet twenty (20) years old as of the Utah Pageant, September 27, 2008, and who will be at least sixteen (16) years old by the 2009 Miss International Pageant (August 6, 2009) in Richmond, Virginia.

Any Job’s Daughter, under the age of sixteen (16) at the time of the Utah Competition on September 27, 2008, who has passed proficiency and is in good standing in her Bethel, is eligible to compete for Spirit Ambassador.

Entry Forms and Fees

Entry forms must be filled out with accompanying information, an entry fee and postmarked by September 1, 2008. The entry fee for the Miss Utah Pageant will be $25.00 and the entry fee for the Spirit Ambassador Competition will be $15.00. These fees will help us offset the cost of the MUJD contestant luncheon and the banquet. All competitors will receive a complimentary banquet ticket. A check for the entry fees should be made payable to the Grand Guardian Council. Please note financial assistance is available if the registration fee is an issue. You may contact Teresa Garrett or Jan Boyer.
