Job’s Daughters International Grand Guardian Council of Utah Vice Grand Guardian Responsibilities January 22, 2008
The Vice Grand Guardian has 6 major responsibilities to perform over the course of the year.
- Coordinate and chaperone the activities of the State Ritual Team
- Register the Utah Team for Supreme
- Coordinate and attend rehearsals
- Chaperone team events at Supreme
- Provide scheduling assistance between team members and Bethels needing pro tem officers for initiation and special ceremonies
- Name the new team, in collaboration with the Grand Guide, for the upcoming year (Note: the team is often named in the early spring to allow for adequate attendance at Supreme Session)
- Complete an annual report of the teams activities and an update/passing on of the State Ritual Team Binder
- Liaison to Ritual Competition Committee for the Grand Guardian Council
- Attend planning meetings
- Assist with events on the day of competition
- Complete committee assignments
- Provide advice and assistance
- Report progress during the Grand Guardian Council meetings
- Assure the completion of an Annual Report and knowledge transfer from one chair to the next
- Liaison to the Honored Queens Ball Committee
- Attend planning meetings
- Collaborate with the Bethel assigned to the lead planning and assistance role
- Complete committee assignments
- Provide advice, assistance
- Report progress during the Grand Guardian Council meetings
- Assure the completion of an Annual Report and the updating/passing on of the HQB Planning Binder
- Plan and coordinate annual adult training [Note: this responsibility is complete in close collaboration with the Grand Guardian/Associate Grand Guardian]
- Prepare and plan for the upcoming year in collaboration with the Vice Associate Grand Guardian and the Grand Bethel Senior Princess
- Attend Masonic family coordination meetings
- Develop a calendar of events
- Establish standing and other committee chairs/members
- Prepare to install appointed officers
- Plan for installation ceremony and reception
- Prepare to appoint Bethel and Grand Bethel Councils
- Request daughter recommendations in the March
- Grand Bethel recommendations – see bylaws
- Work with Finance Committee to develop a draft budget for presentation to the Grand Guardian Council ___ before Grand Session
- Liaison and participate as a member of the Grand Bethel Guardian Council
- Attend council meetings
- Attend Grand Bethel meetings and events, assisting as needed
- Actively support the Grand Bethel Senior Princess
- Provide a report at Grand Guardian Council meetings
- Other duties
- Attend and contribute to Grand Guardian Council meetings
- Attend Bethel visitations and installations
- Attend and contribute to Rally planning meetings/process
- Attend Supreme Session
- Attend Rally & Grand Session
- Attend Grand Guardian Council events
- Become nearly proficient with Bylaws, Special Instructions, Rules & Regulations
- Develop a relationship with upcoming presiding officers of other Masonic bodies in the state
- Attend, and speak on behalf of the GGC, at special events on behalf of the Grand Guardian as requested Recommended attributes and characteristics:

- Chaperone the Miss at her official visits and activities
- Register the Miss for the Miss International Pageant at Supreme
- Chaperone, support, prop up, feed and water the Miss during the Miss International Pageant and any other time during the year
- Coordinate the creation of the MUJD/MUC charm
- Coordinate parade registration and participation
- Include Miss Utah Congeniality, Spirit Ambassadors and Grand Bethel royalty
- Ensure that the Miss completes an annual report of activities and the updating/passing on of the Miss Utah Binder and bylaws
- Liaison to Miss Utah Job’s Daughter and Spirit Ambassador Competition Committee for the Grand Guardian Council
- Attend planning meetings
- Assist with events on the day/evening of competition
- Complete committee assignments
- Assist the Miss Utah with workshops, sleepovers, mailings, recruitment, etc
- Provide advice and assistance
- Report progress during the Grand Guardian Council meetings
- Assure the completion of an Annual Report and knowledge transfer from one chair to the next
- Complete duties of Courtesy as requested by the Grand Guardian
- Coordinate the schedule, activities and recognitions of the Supreme Guardian, Miss International and other officers during their official visit to Utah
- Coordinate recognitions during Rally
- Official opening
- Grand Guardian Council Installation
- Participate on the Ritual Competition Committee for the Grand Guardian Council
- Attend planning meetings
- Assist with events on the day of competition
- Complete committee assignments
- Provide advice and assistance
- Collaborate with the Vice Grand Guardian in the naming of the next years team
- Liaison and participate as a member of the Grand Bethel Guardian Council
- Attend council meetings

- Participate in the planning of the upcoming year’s activities and events
- Attend Masonic family coordination meetings

Job’s Daughters International Grand Guardian Council of Utah Grand Inner Guard & Grand Outer Guard Responsibilities March 11, 2009
The Grand Inner Guard and Grand Outer Guard are, generally, the second and first year elective positions for men on the Grand Guardian Council. As such, they provide the opportunity for Mason’s to not only exercise their leadership abilities but also to learn. Regardless of a Mason’s previous experience in Job’s Daughters, the GGC is a unique body of dedicated women and men whose sole purpose is to guide our young Daughters toward adulthood, always keeping in mind that “the girl comes first.”
The GIG and GOG are responsible for all the duties as outlined in Bylaws-GGC, Article III, Section 9. However, these officers’ duties do not end there.
The GIG is the chairperson of the Rally Arrangements Committee, assisted by the GOG and such other adult volunteers as may be assigned by the Grand Guardian. As the chairperson, the GIG must:
- Determine the requirements and desires of both the current Grand Guardian and her probable successor regarding location, budget, catering, space requirements, availability of nearby activities for the Daughters, etc., when investigating potential sites for future Grand Rallies.
- Direct the Rally Arrangements Committee in their research and prepare a selection proposal for the Grand Guardian’s approval.
- Act as liaison between the Grand Guardian Council and the Rally venues as needed.
- Be in charge of security during all state events.
- Other duties of the GIG and GOG:
- Attend and contribute to Grand Guardian Council meetings
- Attend Bethel visitations and installations
- Attend and contribute to Rally planning meetings/process
- Attend Supreme Session if possible
- Attend Rally & Grand Session
- Attend Grand Guardian Council events
- Become familiar with Bylaws, Special Instructions, Rules & Regulations
- Develop a relationship with upcoming presiding officers of other Masonic bodies in the state
- Assist the Grand Secretary in caring for the properties of the GGC

The Grand Marshal has 5 major responsibilities to perform over the course of the year.
- Coordinate and chaperone the activities of the Miss Utah Congeniality and the Spirit Ambassadors
- Chaperone and coordinate the Miss and the Spirit Ambassadors at visits and activities
- Assure the Miss is prepared and able to attend Supreme in support of the Miss Utah Job’s Daughter
- Assist with parade participation by the Miss Utah Congeniality and Spirit Ambassadors
- Collaborate with the Grand Guide
- Ensure that the Miss completes an annual report of activities and the updating/passing on of the Miss Utah Congeniality Binder
- Participate on the Miss Utah Job’s Daughter and Spirit Ambassador Competition Committee
- Attend planning meetings
- Assist with events on the day/evening of competition
- Complete committee assignments
- Assist the Miss Congeniality with workshops, sleepovers, mailings, recruitment, etc
- Provide advice and assistance
- Report progress during the Grand Guardian Council meetings
- Assure the completion of an Annual Report and knowledge transfer from one chair to the next
- Coordinate statewide special ceremony performances, including the Flag Ceremony Grand Session Formal Opening
- Plan, prepare and present the Grand Session Flag ceremony, working closely with the Grand Bethel Marshal
- Plan, prepare and present any other special ceremony as requested by the Grand Guardian
- Participate in the planning of the upcoming year’s activities and events
- Identify members for Grand Guardian Council Standing Committees
- Identify members for other committees
- Attend planning meetings
- Other duties
- Attend and contribute to Grand Guardian Council meetings

The Grand Secretary has lots of major responsibilities to perform over the course of the year.
- Receive all moneys due to GGC and post accordingly to excel spreadsheets. Including, but not limited to:
- 2/3’s projects
- Supplies
- Bylaws
- Directories
- Bonding
- Insurance
- Any other items
- Receive all monetary donations made to HIKE, post accordingly to excel spreadsheets and forward to
- HIKE Foundation with a letter
- Order supplies for Bethels and GGC
- Issue invoices for the following and update excel spreadsheets:
- Bylaws
- Supplies
- Directories
- Bonding
- Insurance
- Any other items
- Issue warrants for the following and update excel spreadsheets:
- Bylaws
- Supplies
- Bonding
- Insurance
- Reimbursements
- Any other items
- Keep an updated list of Past Grands
- Keep an updated list of current Executive Bethel Guardian Councils
