Printing Instructions for the forms in MS Word® Format: Most of these FORMS are ‘Protected’ which means you cannot change the original wording or formatting. Some are protected, only to track changes you may make. Words you ‘delete’ will change color and appears as a strike over, new text will be a different color.
You may SAVE your new Document to your Hard Drive. If you do, you will have a backup copy of the original file, and it will remain ‘Protected.’
Please be careful when you print on card stock, most printers have a difficult time ‘grabbing’ it and then forcing it around the roller. It is not a good idea to walk away from your printer until you are sure the card has been fed properly. Likewise, it is not prudent to do more than ten (10) copies of any of these files at any one time. Most of our PC’s do not have sufficient memory to process large print jobs.
You may choose to print post cards on regular card stock and do your own cutting, rather than purchasing the more expensive perforated post cards. Forms are exactly one-quarter page (4.25”x 5.5”). Either way, do not be alarmed if you get an alert about being ‘outside the print margins.’ Most printers will allow for a bit of ‘fudging’. Every effort has been made to test all forms on a variety of ink-jet printers.
In the case of double-sided forms, you will have to know your own printer. In most cases you will be better off printing all ‘odd’ pages first, reinserting the printed page and printing all ‘even’ pages. In the case of your booklets, we have broken each into four half-pages to eliminate most formatting problems you could encounter with a larger document.
In the case of FORMs 130 and 160, where page one is portrait, and page two is landscape. PRACTICE! The top of page 2 (FORM130Back.DOT) should print towards the right margin of Form 130. Most ink-jet printers are fed Side to be printed ‘down’ – top ‘in’. By printing your landscape page first, you will be able to tell which is the ‘top’, then reinsert the page printed side up, top in, your form should print correctly. Printing instructions for adding pertinent notes for each of your Bethel’s Line Officers are located within the NotesXX.dot file. Margins are pre-set so you may simply delete the instructions and add your own text. Keep in mind that you have a half-page limitation (roughly 4”x 6”).
